uck-o

My son is so cute. We recently put up a babygate in the kitchen to keep him from hurting himself or burning the house down since he is such a clever and bright guy. I was in the kitchen earlier and he wanted in, so he threw his toy in the kitchen and said "Uck-o" then held his arms up as if to say "Okay, mom, let me in the kitchen to get my toy now."

He also has decided that he thinks he should climb the baby gate. What he does is puts his hands on the top of the gate and then tries to walk up the side.

New tricks

Lately my 19 month old son has learned several new tricks. For example, this past Saturday, he decided to bring  my husband and me some eggs, presumably for his breakfast. Which entitled going to into the fridge for. He did manage to reach the bedroom with six of the ten unharmed. Three were broken on the floor and one in the carton.
Today he got into the cabinet and pulled out the bag of flour (half of which is in the canister, the rest was put in the cabinet for later). He managed to dump part of the bag of flour unnoticed. We then decided to just let him play in it, figuring it would keep him busy while we finished to prepare dinner.

He of course tried to share the fun.

In the end he seemed to really enjoy it, and the clean up was really easy, at least more so than the broken eggs on the living room carpet.

Just starting

I accept that many of the small moments in life that brings me such joy, will be forgotten later in life. I am trying to fight that fact via the blog. I want to record those little things that bring me such joy here so that not only will I be able to look back and remember it in ten, fifteen, twenty years; but also want to share the joys of parenthood with others too.
